Leek and chilli burger with a warm butterbean dip

How often do you eat a burger? I love a good burger and once I get the idea in my head I know I have to have one, bought or home made.
One of the few things at the allotment at the moment are leeks and I thought it would be interesting to make leek burgers. A friend of mine bought me a burger press that I never used and it was about time.
I wanted something different to go with the burger and opted for a warm bean dip instead of dressing and a bun.
Warm butter bean dip
preparation time 5 minutes
cooking time – just enough to warm up
serves 2
Ingredients
- 1 tin of butter beans, rinsed
- 1 garlic clove, peeled and roughly chopped
- zest and juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 2-3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2-3 tbsp water
Leek and chilli burgers
preparation time 5 minutes
cooking time 6-8 minutes per burger
serves 4
Ingredients
- 500 gr or 17.6 oz pork mince
- 1 egg
- 1 small leek, chopped fine
- 1 red chilli, chopped fine
To taste
- barbecue spice
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
Mix the mince with the egg and add the spices. Shape the burgers.
Pan fry the burgers until cooked through. Serve with lettuce, the warm bean dip and sweet potato fries spiced with black sesame and mustard seeds. I also added pickled turnip, tomatoes and sliced raw onion.
I liked the leeks and it hit my burger spot.
I never eat a burger…I’ll just take that lovely dip please!
Looks delicious! Thanks for the post!
