Looking back and going forward

A few weeks ago a friend and myself finally managed to get together for a proper catch up. We always try to find something nice to do, an event, an exhibition or something similar before lunch or dinner. It is always nice to see her and she was one of my first friends I made when I moved to the UK. We always have a little trip down memory lane before sharing what is going on today and future plans.

This time we went to the London fashion and textile museum for a Biba exhibition. The Biba story explores how fashion phenomenon Biba blossomed to become the world’s first lifestyle label. I heard about the exhibition from the artist Steve Thomas who worked on numerous designs and logo for Biba.

First thing first, coffee. This had such an artistic swirl I had to take a photo. We did the mandatory “who has done what” of people we jointly know, existing friends and old ones.

After coffee we went to the exhibition.

Biba existed between 1964-1975 and it was full of ladies who spent their hey days shopping at Biba!

After the exhibition we walked to Borough market, a very foodie destination. I couldn’t resist taking a few photos.

This stall sold mushroom risotto.

I meant to come back for these doughnuts after lunch but forgot. They looked to irresistibly chubby and edible.

We did talk about where to have lunch, flirting with the idea of a gastro pub but as we walked past Brindisa we couldn’t resist the idea of tapas.

Tapas is a wonderful way of eating, lots of sharing dishes, no room for food envy and you can order lots of different items of the menu. We grazed and talked through an excellent meal.

The meal went so fast we opted for a cheese board, we were not done talking.

We had done the past and shared plans for the future. My friend was going on a cycling holiday and I had lots of ideas for new dishes to trial just to mention a few plans.

It was a great day! Nice to do something different. I don’t go to London often enough, things just gets so busy here. 🙂

  1. Definitely a mouthwatering lunch. 😋
